Welcome

Welcome to the home page for The West Midlands Police Crown Green Bowling Club. Take a look below at what our club’s about.
The Crown Green Bowling Section plays its home matches on a superb green at Tally Ho!, the West Midlands Police Sports and Social Club, in Pershore Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham (near to The Warwickshire County Cricket Ground), and caters for all levels of players.
Unlike flat green bowling, players can wear casual clothes providing they have suitable flat soled shoes. Age is also no barrier to taking part, in fact we have had players as old as 11 and young as 75! We also actively encourage female members as much as the male.
At present there are six teams operating at different levels and leagues.
Saturdays; Warwick & Worcester League (Premier Division 4)
Saturdays; Business Houses
Sundays; Northfield & District League.
Tuesdays; S. W. Birmingham O’60s League.
Wednesdays; Yardley Wood & District League.
Thursdays; Heart of England Friendly League.
The section also plays a team in the National Police League which is highly competitive. The West Midlands Police won the League in 2008 and swept the board in all other National Police related competitions.
Over the years the section, previously led by Alan Seager and now having Richard Conway as secretary, have become formidable opponents to other teams and can boast some great success. We offer free tuition for those wishing to take up the sport in very pleasant and friendly surroundings.
